Digital 2019 in NZ

Hootsuite has released the latest data for Global and Local Digital statistics for 2019.

The top interesting Statistics; 

• 88% of New Zealand's population have access to the internet with 71% being active social media users.
• 45% of people are using Ad-Blocking tools.
• The top social media site is YouTube followed closely by Facebook, Facebook messenger, Instagram and Pinterest. 
• In January 21% of people were using voice search or voice commands for help from Alexa, Siri or Google and other voice AI agents.
• 15% of people used Ride-Hailing services e.g. Uber and Taxi apps.
• 98% of peope used a social network or messaging service in the past month.
• 84% of people activley engaged with or contributed to social media in the past month.
• 1 hour 43 minutes is the average amount of time per day spent using social media.
• The average internet user has 7.2 social media accounts.
