Jo has over 20 years of experience in the Digital PR & Social Media world launching Monster.com in New Zealand in 1997. She lectured in Digital for the NZ Marketing Association in 2001 and 2005 whilst holding senior roles advising leading global retail, finance, telecommunications, sport and travel brands on the evolution of digital media, social media and the ever changing data age we live in.
Jo was Global Digital + Social Media Manager with Air New Zealand for 6.5 years and was responsible for managing New Zealand’s largest brand in the Social Media space and is know globally as Air New Zealand's Social Media and Digital driving force.
Jo pioneered Social Media for Air New Zealand, establishing the Social Media channels from zero fans through to a 1.5 million community size with a Klout score of 89+. Jo was invited to Google I/O in 2013 to present at the Google Sandbox amongst the first companies to build a site using G+ Social Sign in www.airnzfairy.com
Jo developed the popular Social Media Breakfast series and brought leading key note speakers to New Zealand including Randi Zuckerberg, Guy Kawasaki, Chris Dancy, Teddy Goff advisor to Hillary Clinton and Obama and Ross Dawson.
Jo also hosted the New Zealand Red Carpet premier of the Google inspired "The Internship".
In addition to this during her 6.5 years at Air New Zealand Jo launched a new Intranet, and KoruTube (an internal version of YouTube) and was involved in the public and internal launches for : The Air New Zealand Self Service kiosks, Future Taking Flight - The best long haul flying experience, 787 Dreamliners - Tweet Up's and Arrivals and the 777 Live Stream and arrival into fleet.
